It’s holiday time….

Two more days to go, and then a long holiday begins. S and I are taking a long holiday or I’d rather say a short break from the routine life for a period of 9 days. The last holiday we took was in February when we visited Goa. I am so glad that we were able to plan out another holiday this year. We will be visiting my in-law’s place and spending a few days with the family there.

Since our marriage, this is the first time we’d be celebrating Diwali with family. Usually we do it in Bangalore with friends 🙂 We are looking forward to a good and relaxing holiday. Also, as always, mama would be sending over sweets and savouries soon after we return back.  Also, I wish I can stick to the pledge that I took last year of Going green(not lighting crackers) 😉

Have a happy and safe Diwali friends! See you soon 🙂

Happy Diwali

Today, on the occasion of Dhanteras, as the Diwali festival commences, I wish you and your family a very happy and prosperous Diwali. I pray this festival of lights and colours may bring a lot of happiness in your life. My husband and I have decided to go green this Diwali. This implies that we are not going to light any firecrackers this year. It is our little contribution towards saving our environment. I was extremely happy when we thought of doing this to keep our environment less polluted. We believe that two of us also can make a little but significant difference to our environment by doing our bit 🙂

I am also happy today for another reason that today is my dear mother’s birthday 🙂 She has been a very important person in my life. I owe a lot to her for what I am today. I pray that the Lord gives her a lot of happiness and love in her life. My husband and I gifted her with a new mobile phone and she was very happy after receiving it 🙂

Have a happy and safe Diwali 🙂

Simply Happy!

The Diwali festival is around the corner. Traditionally, before the festival the entire house is cleaned up and prepared for the festival. Today, my husband and I started with the clean-up. We started with the kitchen. It feels so good to do the work all by ourselves. Both of us love to keep everything at home in apple-pie order. We always do the cleaning work together and we enjoy it. Hence, we never feel the need of a house-help. Over a period of time, I have realized that any work done with love and dedication is enjoyable 🙂 Also, cleaning and doing household work is a respectable job. It feels so good today. We are eagerly waiting for one of our favorite festivals of the year 🙂

The rest of the day was spent doing a lot of shopping. Shopping is always so much fun and especially when you are doing it for others. You keep waiting eagerly till your gift reaches the destination and the person receives it with happiness. When you make others happy, your happiness automatically gets doubled 🙂
